Mr. President Mehmet Ali TALAT re-visited E.M.U. to give information about the ongoing negotiations in Cyprus based on the new developments.

Mr. President Mehmet Ali TALAT re-visited E.M.U. to give information about the ongoing negotiations in Cyprus based on the new developments.

 

President TALAT made a brief presentation about the topics covered so far in the negotiations such as Executive, Legislative, Judiciary mechanisms of the new partnership and relations with the EU. In addition, President TALAT explained the procedure followed in the negotiations. Mr. TALAT stated that "the issue of Governance and Power sharing, which is the most important point of the Cyprus problem, finished after a long period of negotiation with only one important disagreement: executive branch". Mr. President explained the property issue negotiated by the two leaders as well.

President TALAT mentioned that the contribution of the experts during the negotiations is very important to have closer relations between two communities.
